The_Green_Falcon Obnoxious sludge with a nice mix of sinister melody and sleazy power...love it. Favorite track: Gods.

Rob Hammer I own the cd but bought the download anyway just to alert any followers... GODS is an absolute brilliant album with 2 tracks, 'Pythia' & 'Blood From Life' who completely blew me away the first time I heard them on YouTube!!! Favorite track: BloodFromLife.

V1N Luckily, yesterday saw the last few songs they played as support for Crowbar in Baroeg, Rotterdam.
Such energy of a vocalist is barely seen on stages lately (big up!), together with their firm songs, the noticable benefit of having two guitarists in the band, and the solid backline of drummer and bass player, METAL!
MindOverFour

MindOverFour Very awesome stuff. Like an angrier, more metal Dozer. So impressive. Metallic stoner riffs, layered melodies, and vocals that are somewhere between Swedish melodic death metal, old Neurosis, and hardcore screamo. Herder mixes metallic Mastodon-like guitar pyrotechniques with doom sensibilities, and the hardcore rage of Earth Crisis. Favorite track: Gods.
Ben den Ouden

Ben den Ouden I saw Herder at Roadburn which is ironic as I live in Groningen. It was the single most testosterone fuelled no holds barred gig I've been too since I moved to NL. Crushing riffs, tight and great vocals live, and the album is a solid representation of their live sound which is an achievement in itself. Herder IS Harder - keep writing brutal sludge dudes. Favorite track: Stab.
Sunder MK2
Sunder MK2 thumbnail
Sunder MK2 Doomier, slower than their earlier efforts. This isn't a good times album.
This one grooves like stoner metal, at times it reminds me just a little of clutch until the later part of the album when things get angrier and heavier. Favorite track: BloodFromLife.

about

Reflections Records. HERDER became an often mentioned band in the world of underground, extreme music with their self titled debut album delivering a furious mix of Stoner, Doom and Sludge all based on the insane riffing of guitar god JB (known from ao Aborted). Their second album “Horror Vacui”, also the last one featuring vocalist Nico, made the band embrace an even darker atmosphere and with the very well received “Doomed” 7”, the band officially introduced Ché Snelting, the new singer. At the 2013 edition of the world famous Roadburn Fest HERDER played in a sold out venue welcoming the audience in a storm of spit and thunderous volume leaving an audience gasping for air and the band went through their entire stock of merchandise and records afterwards.

With “Gods” HERDER is taking another big step forward with an even darker and heavier sound than on their previous work (once again done by string wizard JB at Hewwetover Studio). The songs show more depth and have a more sinister feel without losing the in-your-face brutality the band became famous for. HERDER is a band that doesn’t need much words beside their well-known “HERDER is HARDER” phrase. And GODS, featuring the incredible art of Mattias Frisk (ao Ghost, Vampire, Entrapment) is the new chapter in the dark, evil and fucked up loudness that is HERDER!

The LP comes in a deluxe gatefold, reverse printed, gatefold sleeve. First press contains 100 copies on Clear/Brown vinyl (DIE HARD version only), 150 copies on Brown vinyl and 750 copies on black vinyl.
